Website redesign and rebrand for Winston Solicitors

A refreshed identity and responsive site built to improve UX, boost engagement, and modernise the firm’s digital presence.

Overview

Winston Solicitors worked with us to explore a brand refresh while enhancing their digital presence for a stronger online impact.

Our goal was to modernise their identity while maintaining familiarity, improve the website’s functionality, and create a seamless user experience across all devices.

Deliverables

We kicked things off with a discovery workshop to align on goals, understand the target audience, and assess the existing website’s challenges. This session helped us explore design preferences, analyse competitors, and map out the functionality and content needed to bring the new vision to life. With a clear direction established, we outlined the project timeline and next steps.

We conducted user research to understand audience characteristics and pain points to build a website that genuinely worked for Winston Solicitors’ audience. We examined demographics, behaviours, and motivations to understand why users visited the site and what they needed. Analysing the existing website and user interactions, we identified common pain points—navigation issues, mobile responsiveness concerns, and content clarity. Addressing these areas ensured a smoother, more user-friendly experience.

We reviewed the existing content to determine what should be refined, repurposed, or replaced. This helped us fill gaps and ensure the site’s content was engaging, easy to digest, and aligned with the refreshed brand identity. A structured approach to content also helped improve SEO performance and user engagement.

We conducted a competitor analysis and worked closely with Winston Solicitors to explore different branding directions. We developed three potential routes:

  • Safe – A careful refinement of the existing brand
  • Evolution – A refreshed and enhanced design that builds on the current identity
  • Revolution – A bold and transformative redesign

We refined the final direction through collaborative branding workshops, creating a refreshed logo, social media assets, and photography art direction. This ensured a cohesive and professional brand presence across all platforms.

We created a design system that matched the new brand direction and included a mobile-first web component suite. Using wireframes and prototypes, we worked with the firm to refine layouts, user journeys, and interactions before development.

We updated the existing Drupal site, reconfiguring the CMS and theme to align with the new designs. Before launch, we tested and refined the site, making sure the transition was smooth and the user experience felt natural.
